Well, another year has flown by, but this one makes me super emotional! My last baby has turned 1! Where did this last year go? My boys bring me such joy, and I cannot imagine life without them. Jonah is still not walking but is into everything and really developing a sweet personality. He wants so bad to be a part of the wrestling matches and "dance offs" that happen around the house most evenings and does a pretty good job keeping up! He sure does love his big brother. When I think back to our sweet little preemie baby who had a rough start into this world beginning at the NICU to numerous trips to Children's Hospital to possible surgeries, I am so grateful now how God has blessed us with a perfectly healthy little boy whose medical problems have vanished. Coming from a girl who is a 100% girly girl and has no clue about boy things and is striving each day to even like boy things, I am CRAZY about my boys! I couldn't imagine my life any other way. Happy Birthday sweet baby Jonah! I love you.

Jonah is all about the camera these days...you tell him to say "cheese" and you get the same cute little cheesy smile each time. I just love this kid!

This was Micah two years ago....

Here is another one of those times when I find my Jonah getting into something and think, "I have seen this before!" So, I got on my computer and found the exact pic of Micah from a few years ago and got cracked up how they even happened to have the same shirt on when getting into the toilet paper. ha!

Jamie and Micah went to the fireworks store and picked out $7 worth sparklers to get an experience of his first time shooting off fireworks. He was pretty impressed with the bottle rockets and such until our neighbors fireworks made ours look like a total joke. HA!

Jamie's parents and ALL the grandkids. The oldest is in first grade all the way down to just a few months old. It is NUTS when we are all together in one house.

Jamie took Micah to his first movie in the theatre this summer...Toy Story. He loved loved it and sat totally engaged during the whole movie. I was so sad I missed that fun experience :(

Summer is by far my favorite time of the year, and I have enjoyed this year more than any other just becasue I love being with my boys! Here is just same random pics...

Beach 2010

Jamie surprised me with a trip to the beach with my family for mother's day. The only sad part was that he was not able to go since he was going to beach camp the next week with the youth. I wrestled with going since I had just missed a week of work to go to Las Vegas with him, but I wanted to go so so bad. I had not been on a trip with my sister Sara in almost 20 years! We had such a good time!!! The weather was perfect, the kids had a blast playing together, and all of us adults enjoyed time together. Jamie and I totally have to tag team when it comes to taking care of Micah and Jonah so I wasn't sure how it would go lugging all that baby equipment down to the beach each day, getting sand out of all the "cracks" five times a day, etc. without him. But my family helped me out A TON, and I had a wonderful week! We all missed daddy a lot but thank him for begging us to go. (I think he was excited about the break at home with out mommy and the kiddos!) I posted way too many pics, but thumb through them quickly. What else do you have to do????

After about 20 shots, this is the best we could get of all the kids together. If you have kids, I know you feel our pain.

VEGAS BABY!

Three weeks ago Jamie surprised me with a trip for just the two of us to Vegas. I was so surprised and thrilled to get just some "Jamie time" to nurture our marriage. We had a blast! It was much needed couple time to sleep in, enjoy the pool, eat WAY too much, spend quality time with one another without our kids, and just realize why we love one another so much and have committed to a life together-no matter what. AND, I was lovin me some sleep (the first night LITERALLY I have slept more than three consecutive hours in seven months)! It was fun to kind of even be "bored" together. Its amazing how many hours are in the day when you take out all the time us parents put into changing diapers, giving baths, driving to events, feeding, teaching, and entertaining your children! HA! But, we wouldn't trade it for the world! Hope you enjoy the pics. Since we have been to Vegas two other times, we didn't really take many fun pictures, and we spent so much time just by the pool. But,we did manage to find time in our "busy" schedule to see all the rich and famours. Only Jamie and I are retarded enough to enjoy a wax museum so much (and for the second time at that!)

Welcome to Providence

As you all know, God recently called us away from First Baptist Church to minister at Providence Church in Knoxville. Leaving First Baptist and all of our friends and youth was so so hard and very sad, but we felt a peace that God was moving us to a different place in ministry. Nevertheless, even when you have a peace it is still hard due to the transition of making new friends, feeling like you don't quite "belong" yet, and just adjusting to a different church in general. All that said, we feel like Providence is going to be a perfect fit for us, and we are loving it so far! Our first night there was the church's yearly dinner to honor all the volunteers who serve at Providence. Every year the event has a theme, and this year's theme was the 80's. And boy do they know how to throw a party! It was sooo fun! Everyone that knows Jamie and I well enough knows that we LOVE to dress up and make fools of ourselves. So, we fit in perfectly at this party. I think about 90% of the people there were DECKED OUT in side ponytails, neon shirts and jelly shoes, acid washed jeans, parachute pants, blue eye shadow, and mullets!!!! I love when Christians know how to sit back and enjoy some good, clean laughter together! Here are some pictures to just show you a little of the fun we had....

Thank you to my friend Natalie for pulling my rockin hot 80's outfit together in like 5 min! The coat was classic, and my suntan panty hose and white pumps just finished it off.

It's Just the Simple Things in Life

We all sometimes get so busy that we forget to stop and just enjoy the simple things in life...

1. There is nothing like a roly poly little baby whose smile is bigger than life! Jonah brings me such JOY!

2. A precious three year old who is everyday learning more and more independence. Only a mommy smiles when she thinks of her child "pottying" by himself!

3. Having a husband who is HYSTERICAL and makes me laugh as I watch him entertain his beloved boys.

4. Two brothers that are already learning how to wrestle with one another!

5. I have been consumed with this little bird's nest in my front door wreath. Everyday this week, Micah and I have looked into the nest to see if the little eggs have hatched.

6. I went to the door a few days ago and found my little birdies had hatched. I TOTALLY freaked out! I screamed like a three year old and was sooooo excited! Their fury little heads and beaks chirping fast as they waited for their mommy to feed them....it was so cute!

7. Ahhhh, its the simple things in life....that make me SMILE and say THANK YOU LORD!!!

Easter Celebration!

This past weekend, I went home to visit my family for Easter. Jamie was out of town AGAIN, and it was sad not having him with us to celebrate the resurrection of our Savior. We had a wonderful time though. As always, Micah loves hanging out with all of his cousins, and Jonah hung right in there with them. We hope you all had a wonderful time with your family celebrating Our Risen King!

Love is in the air

Good morning friends! We hope to find you all doing well. The Dewald's are CRAZY these days but just so so blessed. As most of you know, we went to Children's in Ohio for Jonah and got a wonderful report that he just has acid reflux! He is responding wonderfully to his medicine in just one week. Praise the Lord that we finally got a diagnosis, and that it was so minor. Thank you all for your prayers and concern! I am looking forward to now trying to get him on a "schedule" and moving him into his crib to sleep. (I have done it all WRONG with Jonah compared to Micah) Jonah is changing daily and really starting to laugh and respond to his surroundings. He LOVES his brother. When Micah talks to him or even just walks in the room, Jonah lights up and begins laughing. It is very fun as a parent to witness the natural love and connection that two brothers have together. AAAHHH!!! Life is Good! Thank you my Lord for such goodness!

My Baby Turned THREE!

Yesterday we had a superhero party for Micah's third birthday! I can't believe it has already been three years! Last week Jamie and I had a lot going on personally so his party kind of crept up on me. But we managed to get all the decorations, food, cake, etc. the morning of the party. My dollar "pin the tail on the donkey" game was nicely taped to the television (we went ALL OUT) and the "airbrushed" cake (it looked like I bought it from Gatlinburg at one of those airbrush booths) was all in place by the time the first guest arrived right on time at 1pm. We had a great time, and all the kids looked so adorable dressed in superhero costumes(or princess attire for the girls...of course). Three years ago, God changed our lives dramatically as he blessed us with Micah James Dewald. We cannot imagine life without this spunky little kid who lights up a room with his presence. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MY LOVE!

A little Randomness

Since Jamie is a little under the weather, I got the pleasure of playin in the snow with Micah this time. We had a so much fun! Even though our wonderful weatherman got the snow accumulation prediction off JUST a little, we were still able to make a "snowgrassman". We named our snowgrassman Esau since all of the blades of grass sticking out of him looked like he was hairy. Nothing like throwing a little bible story in while building a snowman!

For all of you that considered yourselves a one time fan of Michael Jackson, I highly recommend the documentary that just came out about his last concert tour. Yeah, yeah, I know he was a weird person with some "issues", but the dude can sing and perform! I am not sure I know anyone that couldn't admit that he had amazing talent and had timeless songs. It was captivating to hear how well he sings even when practicing (since most singers these days can't sing a lick and voices are "fixed" in the studio). When Jamie and I finished watching the movie, he commented on how it was the first time he was sad that he had passed away. He then looked over at me who was CRYING and he responded with this utterly shocked look on his face and said, "ARE YOU CRYING OVER MICHAEL JACKSON?" I was then kind of embarrassed but couldn't help but take a little minute to mourn that we will no longer hear anymore new Michael songs. Man what I would have given to have gone to a Michael Jackson concert just once! (I hope I still have friends after this blog entry...HA!)

January has turned out to be a very busy month since I have started back to work. I have really enjoyed getting back into it but am learning the balance of work and parenting. WHOA! I somehow have managed to find time to take a few pictures, and I wanted to show how much the boys are changing!

This year was a very special Christmas! We got to spend it with both sides of our family and had so much fun. We began our vacation at my parents' for a few days. We spent time making our favorite Christmas cookies, last minute shopping, visiting Santa at the mall, and hanging out with our most loved ones. Micah is at a super fun age where we are getting to teach him all the fun "Christmas traditions" like Santa, elves, and giving presents along with the most important part of it all - the birth of Christ! We wanted to make sure that we did not get totally caught up in the Santa side of Christmas and it become more emphasized than our Lord and Savior. We already see room for improvement next year, but did try to show him how Jesus received three presents from the wise men by giving him three also and explaining to him that Jesus is the ultimate gift to us. We also read him the story of Jesus' birth every night building up to the big day. I had huge intentions to bake a birthday cake for Jesus but got overwhelmed with all of our traveling. However, I want to make sure to do that next year and have a big party for Jesus. So, after we celebrated at my parents', we drove home Christmas eve to make sure to be at home for Santa to come visit and celebrate with just the boys. After Christmas morning with our just the four of us (which we are losers and failed to get any pictures because we filmed it on video), we drove to Morristown to be with Jamie's side of the family for a few days. We had a wonderful time in mass chaos with 7 kids under the age of 6 (and one more on the way)!!!! We spent time playing games, having great adult conversation, and letting the kids play with one another. We feel so blessed and unworthy for all that God has given us! It truly was a wonderful Christmas and hope that your family had a blessed time celebrating the birth of Jesus too!

My dad...who is slowly turning into a spittin image of his father. Pops always received gifts so well. As my dad opened each gift this year, he would reply with such similar comments as Pops did, making you feel like you bought him the best gift ever...even it was ANOTHER shirt he really didn't need. I love it!

Poor Jacob was sooo sick at Christmas! He stayed at home first but it just killed him to miss out with the family. So he came over feeling terrible....mask and all! But he didn't miss out!

This is by far my favorite picture of Christmas...sweet Gramma is committed to teaching all the grandkids as much as she can about Jesus. She has taught them all their own special memory verse, and here she was telling them about Jesus' love for them. But even though this moment was special, I especially LOVE this picture because it makes me laugh hysterically. WHO IS THE UNI-BOMBER IN THE BACKGROUND? No, its fun uncle Chuckie randomly wearing his sunglasses while listening to the Christmas story. Maybe he is just doing a tribute to Michael Jackson???

One of the neatest gifts the kids got was two trunks full of dress up clothes to leave at Papa and Gramma's house. They loved it and will get a lot of playin time in with those clothes!

Spider Man (a.k.a Charlie) and Micah really started playing together this visit. I think they will grow up to be big buddies...and trouble makers!

Family Fun at the Ice Skating Rink

So I was trying to just get a cute picture of me and Jamie (since we have not 1 single picture of the two of us together in MONTHS) and he was just NOT cooperating...

By the time he was willing to give me a "real" smile, I was too cracked up!

We had so much fun last night. One of our youth, Melin Craze, is a wonderful skater and had an exibition. The tenth grade Sunday School class went to watch and support her, and we just tagged along! I wish I excelled at something like she has with her skating. She made it look effortless.

Last night Jamie took Micah to his first Tennessee basketball game. He said that they had a wonderful time! Micah was in heaven because their seats were directly behind the band (which would have been a pain to most people) but he loved being so close to the tuba player. He also got to eat popcorn for dinner! When he came home, the first thing he said to me was that he saw Smokey the Dog and lots of pretty dancing girls! HA! Then later when we were talking all about the game, I asked him if he went to see the Vols. He said, "uh no". Then I asked him what color they were and he said "YELLOW!!" He then followed by reminding me again with, "and there were dancing girls!" I am not sure which was more alarming...the fact that my SON had no idea what team he was watching and frankly didn't care or the fact that my TWO YEAR OLD left a BASKETBALL game with only one thing on his mind...GIRLS!

I have really been blessed to take off some time from work for maternity leave. I LOVE my job but have to admit that I have really enjoyed having time to do some "mom" things that usually get put to the side when working. For Micah's school Christmas party, I made these cute Rudolph cookies. When working, his class would have gotten a box of oreo's (that is if I remembered to even bring them!)

Let it Snow, Let it Snow, Let it Snow!

Micah and I were so pumped about the snow when we woke up Saturday morning! For two hours he kept begging us to go outside and play in it, but Jamie and I were both selfish and had to get our workouts in before we would take him. So, by the time we went outside, the snow was half melted and the snowMAN was more like a snowBABY due to the lack of snow left in the yard! Jamie and Micah played hard while I stayed warm inside with Jonah!

My sweet boys! Jamie is the best "hands on" dad I know! He plays with Micah harder than I have ever seen - coming up with all sorts of crazy games and imaginative ways to keep him busy. They fight "dragons" and "monsters", dance all around the house, play hide and seek, and all sorts of fun activities that helps get the energy out of a two year old! He is not afraid to change a diaper and throw up does not seem to gross him out oddly enough. He is definitely the better disciplinarian over the two of us, and I am very grateful that where I am weak he is strong. Micah looks forward everyday to daddy coming home from work just so that they can play. Jamie is such an amazing helpmate, and I cannot imagine raising these boys without him!

You see, Micah has learned how fun it is to walk around the house and take pictures of randomness like the rug, the tv, feet, my butt(yikes!), and basically anything that is meaningless to have a picture of. I thought I would spare you of the rug or my butt and allow you the pleasure of laughing with me as you find how I apparently have an issue with just smiling like a mature adult would normally do in a picture! I have obviously rubbed off on him too! And by the way, take a note on what a natural photographer he is. The pics are centered and everything!

Trick or Treat Fun!

Boy, I love making memories!! This year, I took the boys to my hometown since Jamie couldn't trick or treat with us (boo hoo). We had soooo much fun though! My dad was sweet enough to babysit Jonah while I took Micah out with his cousins on a quest to collect a generous assortment of candy. For those of you that know me best, I get quite excited about CANDY and consider myself a connoisseur of anything with a bright and shiny package that is filled with countless calories and helps keep the local dentist in business! So, I was on a mission! I am not sure if I did not have more fun than my child. The weather was a perfect Halloween-Fallish night and it felt so nostalgic to be walking the neighborhood with my mom and sisters. It was like old times! Micah was so adorable, and I think he would have trick or treated all night if we would have let him! And as far as the candy collection goes....we got quite a nice spread but not near enough gummies, and I sacrificially helped Micah out by eating all the treats I felt as though he just would not like. Trust me, it was tough!

This is the first year Jamie and I have ever carved pumpkins for Halloween, and it was actually really fun. It began as a project for Jamie and Micah, but I saw real quick that they needed my help when Jamie could not draw a design on the pumpkin and was totally unwilling to touch the stuff inside the pumkin. How do you carve a pumpkin without getting dirty???!!! We had a lot of fun, and I think they turned out pretty cute. Making memories!

This picure is actually the first time Micah saw Jonah in person as we were taking in home from the hospital. He was so giddy to see him finally.

I am not sure if this picure could be any sweeter of my two little boys holding hands!
It made me see how big Micah has gotten overnight!

First of all, it was so wonderful to see her and just get to spend quality time talking and hanging out without kids running around (I am not sure if we have gotten to do that since her first one was born 9 years ago). Secondly, it was just so sweet of her to take a day to see me and miss work and drive all the way down here and back in one day....thank you Jo Jo. It was really special! We had a blast! Micah really took to her and it was fun for him to get to play with her just one on one.

He had IV's in his head, oxygen in his nose, and a tube to feed him that went in his nose. Not to mention all the millions of cords hooked up to his chest and feet. We got tangled in them constantly!

YAY! Here he is cord free and looking like a healthy baby boy. He has marks all over him from the tape that was holding the cords to his face. Look how tiny his face is in comparison to his huge paci! It just shows you how itty bitty he is!

We are a very expressive family apparantly when it comes to our facial expressions. Just check us all out...

He is another little miracle baby!

Hey family and friends! I just thought I would take the time to update you on our precious little baby and his progress in the last few days. On Wednesday, we were told that Jonah would be in the Neonatal Intensive Care at least some of next week. However, on Thursday I hobbled into NICU finding my baby looking like a different child! His lungs were not working as hard, his chest cavity was not as sunken in, and his coloring was less modeled. He actually had quite a bit of jaundice and had this golden glow to him that was so pretty despite the fact that you really don't want them to have jaundice. From that day things just kept going uphill and he got stronger and stronger. It seemed like every time I went to visit him, they kept telling me of something that he "graduated" from or a tube that was soon coming out! We were very encouraged. It is now Saturday evening, and I am sitting in what they call a "Rooming In" room with Jonah in his OWN clothes, NO iv's or tubes, and looking HEALTHY! If his jaundice improves by the morning and he doesn't lose anymore weight (he is down to 5lbs 14 oz), we will go home!!!!!!!!! It has been such a long week, and I am super eager to see my Micah (I have hardly been around him at all and he has not even been in the same room with Jonah yet) and get my family all home together! God has blessed us incredibly! The doctor told me that he was sorry that Jonah had to be in the NICU due to being taken early but if we waited another day that my uterus could have ruptured and it could have been tragic. In the C-Section, he looked at me and said that he could not believe what a close call it was! Thank you dear Lord, once again, for protecting me and Jonah and getting us through such a scary situation! I feel so unworthy and blessed!

On October 12, 2009 the Lord blessed us with Jonah Brock Dewald. After a successful amniocentesis, the Doctors decided that it would be the best decision to go ahead and deliver Jonah by c-section. Everything with the surgery went very well, and I am very grateful that my recovery has been WAY easier this time than the last. We were very fearful of some major complications that could have occurred and God had his mighty hand on me and my son. Nevertheless, Jonah is suffering a little due to his prematurity. His lungs are weak and his breathing is labored. So, they have him in the NICU to monitor him and administer antibiotics and oxygen until he can get stronger. It has been so tough not getting to have him near me and just visiting him in the NICU, but we feel so hopeful and very blessed in comparison to many of the other sick sick babies that are in there. They have not given us much information to go off of because they say that premature babies just change minute to minute and all respond differently. At this point, we don't know when he will get to go home, but hopefully not too long. Little Jonah has got to learn to breathe on his own and get stronger. Jamie and I feel so blessed to have two miracle babies now and know that God will see us through until he gets home safe in our arms. We thank all our friends for the prayers and would appreciate if you would continue praying that our little buddy will get better soon! We can't wait to share him with all our friends and family! I am biased, but he is soooo cute!

On Saturday, Jamie and I took Micah to the Zuma Fun Center to enjoy a little adventure time together with only Micah before Jonah gets here. We had sooo much fun! It is the perfect place to go ride a few rides and play a couple of games without spending a fortune and being just enough entertainment for a 2 year old before he gets sick of it. I had so much fun watching Jamie and Micah play together on all the rides (since I couldn't ride anything for being pregnant). Jamie is the best dad when it comes to playing with his boy. He is not afraid to make a fool of himself if it means he will get a laugh from Micah. As you will see, the best part of all these pictures is the many facial expressions he makes to entertain Micah.

The Lost Sea

A few weeks ago, my mom and all the cousins came to visit us. We took them to the Lost Sea in Sweetwater, TN and had a blast. I never thought Micah would have liked it, but he still talks about that place randomly. If you have never been there, it is quite interesting but you kind of feel like you are on a fourth grade school field trip. All the kids loved it though! Well, Micah is OBSESSED with the movie Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. (Yes, the weird, dark one with Jonny Depp) I mean, it is BAD! Everything in his day somehow comes back to that stupid movie. He knows all motions to the umpalumpa songs and Willy Wonka somehow comes up in every conversation. Well, all this to say, when we got to the bottom on the Lost Sea, Micah screamed, "The Chocolate River!!!" He was amazed because he thought we were actually at the chocolate river where Augustus Gloop falls in a gets sucked up the pipe. It was too cute! But needless to say, we hear about going to the Lost Sea all the time now and how we must go back and see the chocolate river again!

Hey Everybody! The Dewald family is alive! This is my first post since February because I finally got a new computer that doesn't take 30 min. to download one picture onto the blog. It was wearing me out! But as an early 30th birthday present, my sweet husband bought me a new laptop since he was sick and tired of hearing me whine about my ancient computer. Therefore, I now have just composed the world's longest blog entry, so I hope you are bored because there are a lot of pictures. We have had a wonderful summer going to the beach, hanging out by the pool, and going to visit family. I have been big and pregnant all summer as we are now on the countdown for baby Jonah to arrive probably around the first or second week of October. Micah has continued to go to school four days a week while Jamie and I work, and he loves it! As you will see in the pictures, he and Jamie have become best buddies lately. I suppose that is God's way of transitioning us before Jonah comes to take alot of my attention. Life is good, and we are so richly blessed by God. We are so thankful for all we have and the fun memories we have made this past summer!

Micah is just the sweetest kid. Jamie and I are so blessed to be given such a fun loving little boy. We have tried to just take it all in the past 2 1/2 years! He is such a talker and is at the age that he keeps us laughing constantly. He is super excited about Jonah coming into the world in the next few weeks and includes him in everything already! As many know, I was a little disappointed when I found out that I would never have a baby girl, but I am excited now as I watch how much Micah anticipates having a baby brother, playmate, and friend.

All of these beach pictures are of our family vacation with Jamie's side of the family. We had a great time together! Sadly, this is the only picture I have of all the kids together because they are all so young that is was impossible to get them to all stop for one picture together! I don't even have action shots with us together because it seemed like when one family was at the beach the other family's kids wanted to be at the pool. They had a wonderful time together, and I hope we will do another trip together sometime!

Okay, so I know that there is basically only pictures of Micah and Jamie this past summer but as you can see...I have a reason. I am just not one of those "cute" pregnant people who just gains in the belly. I kind of shy away (or maybe I should be honest and just say run) from the camera. I know I will probably one day regret not having more pictures of pregnancy with Micah or Jonah, but oh well!

Micah is a total fish! He loves to jump in the pool and does not want anyone to catch him or he gets mad. He is kind of unafraid of the water in every single way, and I think he would swim all day if we let him

Early this summer, I went home for the weekend to hang out with my family for a few days. Nana pulled out the slip in slide, and it was a hit. Abby, Ellie, Luke, Jacob, and Micah played for hours. I personally like Luke styling with his paci as he slides down!

At the beginning of the summer, we went to Panama City with the youth group as always and had a blast despite that fact that Micah spent the WHOLE trip at the shower where you wash the sand off your feet from the beach. He wasn't all that into the ocean quite yet. He loves being around all the "big kids" though.

I love these! At beach camp with our youth group this summer, Micah decided to be a little curious and go through mommy's suitcase when she was not looking! These could be major blackmail pictures one day. I can only imagine how grossed out he will be when he realizes one day that he had mommy's underwear on!

This is a day we took Micah to the zoo. It was his second time, and he was totally into it! I, sweaty and fat and pregnant was not all about the muggy air and the smell of the animal poop. It about sent me over the edge.

I have no idea what he is doing here but it cracks me up!

The other day my mom and I were in Hobby Lobby (shocker since I spend so much time in there) and Micah just disappeared! I know all you Moms out there can relate and if not, it is just a matter of time. Before a blink of an eye, your child can magically vanish. Well, I began sweating, running around frantically, and started shouting his name to find him. "Where in the world could he have gone THAT fast?!" Well, I got a hold of myself and looked in the shelves behind me and found my sweet toddler playing his first game of Hide and Seek! Once I gained composure, i couldnt help but die laughing. I am not sure which was funnier...Micah hiding or his crazy mother spazing in Hobby Lobby!

There are times when life gets so busy, and I just wonder what in the world I do from day to day because it is just a big busy blur. I feel like Jamie and I have become very good at taking care of Micah, being sick, and just busying ourselves with work and church. But one thing we have failed to do is just take time to be together...just quality time talking, laughing, sharing, and loving. So, this Valentine's Day, I am going to just BE with my husband. God blessed me more than I can imagine when I married the man of my dreams almost eight years ago. He is everything I ever wanted in a husband. Jamie is....a Godly man who loves his job, super funny, dangerously cute, driven, a protector, a heck of a daddy, honest, hard-working, good with money, outgoing, caring, witty, and MY MAN! Today has been an eventful day! Jamie had nose surgery this morning and has spent the day recovering in bed. I left off the pictures of him all bandaged up to save him some embarrasment! He is doing really well, but I can't get him to just enjoy a day in bed (he has not slept a wink!). So, I spent the whole day cooking for him and changing his dressings while playing with an energetic little boy! Micah has LOVED the snow today. I truly think he would stay outside in the freezing cold as his fingers fell off from frost bite and keep on playing! BBBBBUUUURRRRR! Sweet daddy missed out today which is why were are hoping for another day out in the snow soon!

Micah has recently been showing an interest in anything mommy and daddy are doing. Hey Friends and Family! I have been a blog slacker in the past few months. I guess with busy summer schedules, work, and a toddler hanging on my legs all day, it has fallen off of the priority list. We have had a wonderful summer filled with beach trips, hanging out with family, and just enjoying life with an active 18 month old child. Last weekend, we traveled to Louisville, Kentucky to Jamie's graduation ceremony. After two and a half VERY intense years, Jamie graduated from seminary!!!!! I am sooo proud of him! He completed his education as fast as one who would go to school full time would do it, and in the meantime he has managed to work a full-time job, be a new father, and travel EVERY monday to Nashville for classes and 10 weeks to Louisville! Sounds horrible doesn't it? Micah and I are excited about having him around now!

This Halloween I was instructed from my husband to come up with good Halloween costumes for the family. We have always enjoyed dressing up--until this year! (well, I still do!) I found this cute cow costume for Micah and since we always have to go as a theme, I rented this hysterical cow outfit for Jamie that was way too small and had these great big utters. I was the milk maid, and it was so fun! Jamie was a great sport, but needless to say, he will be in charge of the dressing up next year!

Well, there finally was light at the end of the tunnel! Micah has finally slept through the night (8-6:30) 5 nights in a row!!!! Or should I say, I have gotten to sleep through the night for the first time in 7 months-literally! Thank you Lord! I only pray he keeps it up.

Micah is determined to help me feed himself. In order to get any cereal in his mouth, I have to distract him by letting him hold a spoon in each hand. He waves them back and forth and I try to airplane a bite in every once in a while when he is not paying attention. It makes for challenging dinners!

As many of you know, last Friday I had my tonsils taken out. Everyone warned me what a miserable surgury it was, but I had no idea what to expect. The first couple of days were a breeze, and I thought that I either had a high tolerance for pain or that I was told it was way worse than it really was. Boy did things change on day four for me!!!! It has been HORRIBLE! I don't wish this on anyone. I have eaten nothing but grits, mashed potatoes, and pudding for seven days now!!! And it is extremely hard to even swallow those. My mom has come to stay this week and has been an angel. Jamie has helped wonderfully when he is home, but mom is Micah's caregiver pretty much this week. They have really become buddies. I thought about taking a picture of my throat, but I was afriad I would have you all throwing up! So, here are a few pictures of Micah hanging out in his new hat that Nana bought him, sucking the juice on real apples for the first time, and experiencing his first magazine and tearing into it. Hopefully, I will turn the corner soon and be a normal person again, but for now I need to take a nap because updating this blog has taken all the energy I have for the day out of me!!!

A Day with the Family

Friday and Saturday, Jamie and I went to Kingsport to visit my family. I had not been home since the day my nephew was born, and Jamie had not been home since Christmas! We had a relaxing weekend and had a blast as Sara experimented with her camera. I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family. I just wish I lived closer so that I could see them even more than I do now!

Yesterday, Jamie and I went to Morristown to visit his family. We had a blast taking pictures and playing with all the kids. We missed having our other in laws, Scottie, Jennifer, and Aubrey there though. We can't wait to see what holidays will be like with 5 kids under five in the same house!

There are days when I don't get anything done due to just wanting to sit around and admire my precious miracle in which God has gifted me. Jamie and I are very proud parents and can't even begin to imagine what life would be like without Micah.

Micah is really showing lots of expression! Every day I wake up with excitement knowing I get to see my precious baby and look forward to each new milestone. He laughs all the time and is beginning to mimic facial expressions. He grabs everything, and you don't want to put anything near him that you don't want covered in drool.

Jamie and I just took Micah with us to Panama City to summer beach camp for our high schoolers from church. It was a great week! Here are some pictures of our endless drive on the church van. At first Micah was excited to be in the van going on our little trip.....

He played and laughed for the first couple of hours....

But after about four hours, you can see that it began to affect him and he just got glazed over. He had was about over it....

He did great for a 5 month old, but by the end of our ten hour drive, he was going nuts! I decided to just leave the crying picture out because it just wasn't pretty!

This is Micah with his Grandma. She actually came and babysat last week while I worked. They had a great time playing.

This is Micah's first time ever trying rice cereal. As you can see, it wasn't that successful, but it was fun trying.

I'm not sure if he actually swallowed any or if it just all landed on his chin and bib.

On Mother's Day, we had the honor of dedicating Micah at church and my parents were so sweet to drive all the way from Kingsport to see it.

Three weeks ago, my beautiful nephew, Charlie, was born. He was 9lbs. 10oz.! This is my sister-in-law, Kendra, and brother-in-law, Chuck's little baby. I like his hat!

Micah has just starting smiling and as you can see, he is pretty good at it! It is so much fun and we even sometimes get a laugh out of him.
